Jenny Aykroyd has been teaching at AVE since 2012 and is no stranger to Wayne Township. Mrs. Aykroyd began her teaching career at Ben Davis High School in 2001 and has served as an English Department Chairperson, as an Itech teacher, and she was the AVE “Teacher of the Year” for 2014.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and Physical Education from Grand Valley State University and her master’s degree in Educational Technology from Indiana University. She spent eight years coaching the Ben Davis Brain Game team and took this team to four national academic tournaments representing the state of Indiana.
Mrs. Aykroyd married her college sweetheart and together they have two children. She spends her free time reading and playing sports with her kids.
Justin Faires is in his eighth year of teaching. He has taught various levels of English at the high school levels including Advanced Placement, English 11, American Literature I/II, English 10 I/II, and Etymology. Mr. Faires earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Francis (Ft. Wayne) and his master’s degree from Ball State University. Mr. Faires believes in the value and importance of online education and is committed to the advancement of virtual education. He is also a football coach at Ben Davis High School and enjoys working out and spending time with family.

Mrs. Lindsay Thomas
Lindsay Thomas is in her second year with AVE. She has thoroughly enjoyed venturing into the world of online education! She is a Guidance Counselor at Cardinal Ritter High School where she works with students in grades 9-12. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English Education and her master’s degree in School Counseling at Ball State University. She serves on a number of committees at Cardinal Ritter and is the moderator for the Junior Class and the Prom Committee. She is also an adjunct English instructor for the Upward Bound program at IUPUI. She and her husband recently welcomed their daughter, Eva, who was born in April.
