Mrs. Dawn – German Teacher
Kristen Dawn is in her 14th year of teaching German in Wayne Township (12 years at Ben Davis High School and two at the former Ben Davis Junior High). She earned both her undergraduate degree in German and ESL education and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Indiana University. Mrs. Dawn has spent time as an exchange student in Germany as well as chaperoning various exchange programs. This October, exchange students from Ben Davis’ partner school in Iserlohn, Germany, Gymnasium Letmathe, visited for three weeks. The Americans will return the visit in the spring. In her free time, Mrs. Dawn enjoys reading, travel and spending time with friends and family. She is married and has one daughter in kindergarten.
Mrs. Theobald – Spanish Teacher
Marci Theobald has taught Spanish for 16 years. She is also the IB CAS coordinator for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Ben Davis High School. She received a degree in secondary education and Spanish from Franklin College and a master’s degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She enjoys spending time with her two children and husband. She loves the outdoors, camping, traveling and volunteering on mission trips.
Mr. Wheeler – American Sign Language Teacher
Joseph Wheeler is deaf and a native speaker of ASL. With nine years of experience in teaching ASL both at the high school and college levels, Mr. Wheeler has helped facilitate the creation of ASL interpreters, teachers for the deaf, and expanded the linguistic abilities of his students. Through the ASL programs and by participating in Deaf culture events, he and his ASL students promote Deaf awareness in the community. He sees Achieve Virtual as an exciting learning opportunity for students and looks forward to sharing his passion of the language and culture with you. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Wheeler likes to spend time with his wife and four children.
Mr. Lorenzo Angelides – French Teacher
Lorenzo Angelides is in his 8thth year of teaching French. He taught for 5 years at Ben Davis High School and 2 years at the American School in Dubai, UAE. He has returned to Ben Davis and is currently teaching French and US History. He has a master’s degree in education and is currently completing his master’s degree in educational leadership. Mr. Angelides is an active member of the Wayne Township community.
In his free time, Mr. Angelides likes to swim, kite-surf, travel and spend time with his 10-year-old daughter and his family.
