Frequently Asked Questions about our 2020 Virtual Graduation

WATCH THE LIVE CEREMONY ON JUNE 6, 2020 at 1:30 PM: https://achieve-vea.stageclip.com/

Why are we having a virtual graduation?

The administration of the Wayne Township schools believes that the hard work of our seniors deserves to be honored despite the current isolation period that we are facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to do so in a way that honors the date printed on pre-ordered programs and announcements, we moved forward with a virtual graduation ceremony at the regularly scheduled time.

Will we have an in-person ceremony?

There are many factors to consider, but we will continue to monitor state and federal mandates concerning student health and safety. When the stay-at-home mandates are lifted for Indiana schools, the administration will evaluate the feasibility of gathering the Class of 2020 for an in-person celebration of some kind.

What are MarchingOrder and StageClip?

MarchingOrder and StageClip are partnering companies who are working together to bring our virtual graduation to life. MarchingOrder will be collecting graduates’ information to create a personal slide for them which will be shown as their names are read during the ceremony. StageClip will be putting together the videography of the ceremony in order to create a seamless ceremony that replicates our regular graduation ceremony.

What will this virtual ceremony look like?

The virtual ceremony will mirror that of our regular graduation ceremony and will include: speeches by our principal and superintendent; a processional during which graduates’ names will be read as their personal slide is displayed; and a tassel turning ceremony led by the class president.

How do I upload my information to participate?

Graduates will be receiving a direct email from MarchingOrder asking them to complete some basic information about themselves and to upload a photo for use on their personal slides. That email should arrive before May 4, 2020. This information must be submitted to MarchingOrder no later than 11:59 PM on May 15, 2020. Please check your school email regularly for updates.

I want to upload a photo in my cap and gown. Will I receive my cap and gown before I must upload my photo to MarchingOrder?

Unfortunately, caps and gowns will not arrive to Achieve Virtual until after photos need to be submitted to MarchingOrder. Mrs. Rose will be contacting seniors who ordered a cap and gown to see which students still want their cap and gown and which students would like a refund.

What if I don’t upload a photo or fill out the information from MarchingOrder?

Graduates who do not respond to the request for information from MarchingOrder will still have a personal slide created for them using the information available from Skyward, but their slide will contain neither a picture nor a list of honors.

How will we get to see the ceremony?

Graduates will receive an email containing a URL that will direct them to the ceremony broadcast to be played live on June 6, 2020 at 1:30 PM. This link can be shared with family and friends who wish to watch the ceremony and celebrate the achievements of our graduates. A link to the ceremony website will also be included on the Achieve Virtual Education Academy website.

Will we be able to purchase a copy of the ceremony to keep for ourselves?

Families will be given the opportunity to purchase a copy of the full video from StageClip. Please refer to your email from StageClip for details.
