Thankful for Virtual School

Thankful for Virtual School

As we approach the holiday season, we have been reflecting on all that we are thankful for here at Achieve Virtual Education Academy.  We, like many of our students, are especially thankful for the opportunities that virtual education provide.  Here are just a few of the reasons why we are thankful for virtual school.

Anytime, Anywhere Learningthankfulfortech-300x150

Our students at Achieve Virtual are not bound to the hours or bell schedule of a traditional school.  Learning happens anywhere and at any time.  This flexible learning environment allows our students to go to school and balance a busy schedule.

Self-Paced Learning

One of the biggest benefits of online learning is its self-paced nature.  Students move along at their own pace.  The length of a lesson is based on competency and mastery, not on a specific number of hours or days.  If a student in our school understands a specific topic or has mastered a skill, they can move on to the next lesson quickly.  However, if a student is struggling with a particular subject, they can slow down and take the time they need to be successful.  At Achieve, students don’t experience the boredom of sitting through a lesson on a topic they understand.  They also don’t have the stress of moving on to the next lesson before they are ready.

One-on-One Attention

At Achieve, it is easy for students to communicate with their teachers, counselor, and technical support.  Assistance comes at just the right time and is focused on the individual’s needs.

Unique Course Offerings

Not all of our students at Achieve Virtual are full-time.  Many of our students go to traditional schools all over the state.  Many of these students take one or two of our classes to recover a credit or take classes that are not offered locally (such as AP classes and dual credit courses).  These classes can be completed in the evenings or on the weekends while the students still attend their local high school full-time.
