Length/Credits: 2 semesters – 2 credits
Open to: Grades 11, 12
Prerequisite: Geometry (Students are required to purchase a scientific calculator for this course.)
This course is for students pursuing math, science or engineering majors. The elements of Algebra II are reviewed and extended.
Topics include complex numbers, polynomial functions, quadric relations and systems and probability. The six trigonometric functions are studied in detail.
Topics include circular functions, identities, vectors, logarithms, exponential functions and analytic geometry. Emphasis is on the theory and development of trigonometry.
Trigonometry is necessary for anyone who wishes to make an extensive study of mechanics, heat, light, sound, electricity, astronomy or surveying.
